Dr. Batts majored in Pre-Optometry from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky in 1994. He received his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1998.
Dr. Batts completed his externships in 1998 at Pine Ridge Indian Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and Kentucky Eyehealth Center in Benton, Kentucky. At Pine Ridge, he gained extensive experience with ocular pathology, trauma, and fitting of low vision devices. At Kentucky Eyehealth, he conducted comprehensive eye health exams, including diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of eye diseases.
He is a member of the Student Volunteer Services to Humanity, Kentucky Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association.
Dr. Batts is a member of Blandville Baptist Church and enjoys backpacking, tennis, basketball, and traveling.
